NASHVILLE TN (8-8-03) Four-time ARCA RE/MAX Series champion and current point leader Frank Kimmel, in the Advance Auto Parts-Pork Ford, won the Old Milwaukee pole for Saturday's Waste Management 200 Friday afternoon at Nashville Superspeedway. It was his 5th pole award at the 1.33-mile concrete oval in his 6th attempt, and 31st of his career. Kimmel's pole speed was 156.634 mph.
Christi Passmore, in the GAP Roofing-Royal Trading Ford, qualified for the outside pole, a career-best for the former sprint car driver from Pryor, OK. Passmore's speed was 156.348 mph. Local Nashville favorite Darryl Sage qualified third Keith Murt's Chevrolet at 156.200 mph. St. Marie, Quebec native Mario Gosselin qualified fourth at 155.263 mph in the McAfee Mortgage Chevrolet. Owensboro, Kentucky driver David Keith, making his return to ARCA RE/MAX Series competition in the Sadler Brothers Ford, qualified fifth at 155.238.
