Matt Carter Makes Road Course Debut at New Jersey Motorsports Park for the Loud Energy 150

(Millville, NJ) 09-25-08 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series points' contender and Sun Trust Rookie candidate, Matt Carter will take on the newly constructed Thunderbolt Raceway inside New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey, on Sunday, September 28th, for the Loud Energy Drink 150. The 2.3 mile road course marks the 19th stop on the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX series schedule and the 10th time the series has made a scheduled stop at a road course since its' R.C. debut in 1958 at Meadowdale Raceway in Carpentersville, Illinois.

Carter, who heads into this weekends' event third in championship point standings and second in SunTrust Rookie points, has readied himself to take on the New Jersey pavement. It was just about a month ago during a series' scheduled break that Carter visited a Road Course Racing School in Fernley, Nevada, where he was schooled on the ends and outs of road racing.

"Going out to the driving school in Nevada made me feel a whole lot more comfortable about coming to New Jersey this weekend," said Carter. "I have never road raced before, so if I hadn't gone to Nevada we'd probably be in trouble. In road racing you use a lot more brake and make right turns and it's a lot harder on the brakes and transmissions. We need to have some good luck this weekend to hopefully win the championship this year." The Larry Clement stable will be using a new No. 46 Stine Seed-Hantz Group Ford Fusion to lay rubber on the road course in Jersey as their primary piece of equipment to tame the track for this weekends 67 lap, 100 mile main event.

This weekends' schedule of events will get underway with ARCA RE/MAX series practice slated for sessions on Friday, September 26th at 1:10 p.m. and 3 p.m. and Saturday, September 27th at 10:05 a.m., followed by SIM Factory Pole Qualifying, all positions, set for 2:55 p.m. that afternoon. Next up on tap are race day events for the Loud Energy Drink 150 starting with pre- race ceremonies set for 12:30 p.m. Following closely at 1 p.m., the command will be given for Carter and the 39 car starting grid to pull off pit road for the commencement of the inaugural ARCA RE/MAX series Loud Energy Drink 150 road course event at New Jersey Motorsports Park at Thunderbolt Raceway. All of this weekends' on track activities will be hosted exclusively by the ARCA Racing Network on Aracnation.com, presented by Team Glock, brought to you from New Jersey Motorsports Park in LIVE streaming audio. All times listed are EASTERN.
