Mattioli backs up top 10 KONI run with a 13th place ARCA RE/MAX run
Long Pond, PA (September 14, 2009): 19 year old Fordham University Sophomore, Chase Mattioli, drove his Maui Mobile Suites Chevrolet to 13th place finish yesterday in the ARCA RE/MAX event in Millville, New Jersey. Starting 18th, Chase drove a flawless race, and brought the car home with out a scratch. This came three weeks after Chase took his Pocono Raceway sponsored KONI Mustang from 14th to 5th at the August 16thGrand Prix de Trois-Rivieres, in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. Chase turned the car over to his older cousin and teammate, Nick Igdalsky, who brought the car home 9th.
Due to weather and technical issues, Chase only got 2 laps of practice prior to qualifying. He was still able to qualify 18th fastest out of the 35 car field. Drawing from his road racing experience in the KONI Grand Am Series, Chase methodically picked his way around traffic and gave his new sponsor, Maui Mobile Suites, a strong showing in this their first ARCA sponsorship.
"For every driver, it's our privilege and our passion to be able to compete on Sunday, and I so glad Tim Watts, President of Maui Mobile Suites, came on board for the race this weekend," Chase commented after the race. "Although this season has been less than stellar, Maui gave us the opportunity to show that the 04 team is going to be a competitor for the 2010 championship. I also want to thank our associate sponsor, David Marmurek's Advanced Payment Services. They have been with us all season at every race" Chase concluded.
The first Maui Mobile Suite will be showcased at the Kansas Speedway, October 1-4, 2009, Price Chopper 400 and Kansas Lottery 300 and 150. Maui Mobile Suites provides the comforts of a hotel with the added bonus of staying on or near track property. The 53 foot unit comes with upscale features and an abundance of amenities including a game room with big screen TV, game systems, spacious lounge area, Satellite and HD, kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, and sink and up to 12 private sleeping units that each contain a TV/DVD, electronic plug-ins, individual heat/AC controls, lockable cabinet, lockable drawers, electronic plug-and reading light.
In addition to imitating a relationship with Maui, the race Sunday gave Chase the opportunity to race with his cousin Nick, not as teammates but as competitors. Nick, making his first ARCA start, placed 14th. Chase and Nick are the grandsons of Pocono Raceway owners, Doctors Joe and Rose Mattioli. Chase and Maui Mobile Suites will reunite at Kansas Speedway, where he will compete in the ARCA RE/MAX event on Thursday, October 1st. Next weekend Chase and Nick will co-driver their KONI Mustang at the Miller Motorsports Park in Utah.
