Hometown Race Crucial For Robb Brent At Michigan

BROOKYLN, Michigan (June 9, 2009) - - Fresh off his season best finish last Saturday at Pocono Raceway, Robb Brent heads to Michigan International Speedway this week looking to better his performance while putting on a thrilling show in front of family and friends in Friday's Racing for Wildlife 200.

While every event is important to Brent, Michigan International Speedway serves a different purpose. The two-mile oval located just two hours from Brent's hometown track of Shelby Township, Michigan. And while Brent has yet to pull of a top-10 finish at the historic "Irish Hills" track, Brent is eager for a big applause on the stretch of two consecutive top-10 finishes.

"I'm looking forward to going to Michigan this week for a lot of reasons," offered Brent. "The track fits my driving style, so I have high hopes that we can go there this week and better our seventh place performance last week at Pocono."

Brent, who shifts between College and a 20-race ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule added, "We didn't participate in the test at Michigan a couple of weeks ago but I'm not afraid of that. We've been putting fast Dodge Chargers out on the track the last couple of weeks and I'm excited to see how well the car will adapt on Thursday and Friday."

The former road racing ace credits the continued success of Justin Allgaier Motorsports (JAM) to crew chief Bob Blount. Brent and Blount continue to show that their communication is building momentum.

"It's been great working with Bob," offered Brent. "He knows a lot about these race cars but he's not afraid to go out there and make a change. There is so much that can affect the way your racecar feels and Bob can come with a solution that will correct the problem. As the season presses on, I think you'll see that this team will only continue to get stronger."

With the solid finish last weekend, Brent continues to make a climb in the ARCA RE/MAX Series championship point standings. The goal of Brent entering the top-10 is gleaming towards become a reality.

"The points keep tallying with the finishes," Brent admitted. "I cannot take all the credit though. It's a team effort for sure. We'll hope to keep inching a little closer if not enter the top-10 by Friday night."

Washington Township, Michigan based Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep will continue it's long-time association with Brent and serve as the primary sponsor on Brent's No. 36 Dodge Charger this weekend. Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep has backed Brent since his entrance into racing at the age of 16.

"I cannot tell you how important this race is for me this weekend with our sponsor Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep. Their faith in me as a racecar driver has been overwhelming. As much as Michigan is a big race for me, it's an even bigger race for them. They will have a lot of their customers, employees and affiliates keeping their eye on the race, so I hope we're able to produce a good finish for them."
