ARCA rookie paces field filled with development drivers

LEBANON, TN (July 25, 2007) - Michael McDowell's string of impressive performances continues. McDowell clicked off the fastest time in Tuesday's ARCA RE/MAX Series test session at the Nashville Superspeedway.

McDowell's No. 2 Z-Line Designs / Make-A-Wish / Beck Dodge unofficially clocked a lap of 30.60 at the open test in preparation for the Nashville 150 on August 11, topping several NASCAR development drivers. McDowell qualified fifth fastest at the track in April but finished 33rd after being caught up in an accident on lap 95.

Hoping that the test is a sign of things to come, McDowell looks forward to the Nashville race weekend:

"It was a pretty solid test for us," said McDowell. "I'm proud of the job that Eddie Sharp Racing has done to get these cars fast and handling well. We've got a great piece of equipment for Nashville and I'm looking forward to making up for the last visit here. This car has the potential to dominate at this track, so we need to make sure that's the case."

Up Next: Michael McDowell and Eddie Sharp Racing will return to the track on Saturday, August 4 at Pocono Raceway.
