Matt Merrell Partners with Activ8 Communications
Mooresville, NC (Oct. 27, 2009)- ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Matt Merrell has recently teamed up with Activ8 Communications in Mooresville, North Carolina. The 24-year-old driver, originally from Portland, Texas, began driving dwarf cars six years ago right after graduating high school. Though some may consider that a later start than normal, Merrell's career has begun to take off thanks to his outstanding driving abilities.
After claiming Rookie of the Year honors in the dwarf cars and a State Championship in his first season in 2004, Merrell wasted no time moving up with his racing career. He moved to asphalt modifieds for the 2005 season, earning Rookie of the Year honors once again, along with three wins and a fourth place finish in the championship standings. Climbing upwards again in 2006, Matt raced in the USRA Super Late Model Series, finishing second in the championship standings grabbing the Rookie of the Year title.
Currently racing in the ARCA RE/MAX Series on a part-time basis with Win-Tron Racing, Matt is hoping to race full time in 2010. Since his debut in the series in 2007, Matt has made 13 total starts including 10 in 2009. He claimed his first pole position this year at Toledo in May, and finished a career-best second at both Berlin and Pocono.
Activ8 Communications will handle all public relations, marketing and digital media projects for Matt Merrell. With top-notch representation, marketing, and branding from Activ8, Matt plans on continuing his successful career and getting his name mentioned on the same level as some of the top competitors in the sport today.
"I'm really looking forward to advancing my career to the next level, and I know that the representation I will receive from Activ8 is only going to help me get where I want to go," Merrell said. "I'm willing to commit to whatever it takes for me to race successfully and competitively."
Mike Calinoff, CEO of Activ8, also believes that Matt's outstanding talent is something that shouldn't go unnoticed and will help him excel in the future.
"Activ8's partnership with Matt Merrell is something we're really thrilled about," Calinoff said. "Our goal is to get him where he wants to be with his racing career, and his talent paired with our branding and marketing efforts will be the perfect combination to accomplish that."
