Tim Richmond Memorial ARCA/Remax 200 And Mansfield Motorsports Park Come To Aid Of GM Employees
Mansfield, Ohio - The recent announcement by General Motors that they will be laying off 1300 employees in the Mansfield area will be devastating on many local families.
Mansfield Motorsports Park would like to do their part in helping these good folks as they try to get ready for the tough times ahead. The track officials are aware that many race fans would like to attend the Tim Richmond Memorial race scheduled at the track June 20th but because of impending financial problems they will have to stay home. Being active business members of the community is very important to co-promoters Mike Dzurilla and Joe Mattioli and they want to help. With this in mind, any person walking up to the ticket window to buy a ticket to the races on race day will be given a $5 discount when they show their GM Factory Employee badge or identification card.
The track hopes that this good faith gesture will not only allow some fans to come to the races but just maybe it might catch on with other businesses and merchants in the area. Both Dzurilla and Mattioli believe it is not only the right thing to do but it is also the duty of those that can help in some small way to make that extra effort to help their neighbors in this time of need.

Mansfield Motorsports Park Promotes Aids Awareness At The Tim Richmond Memorial 200
Mansfield, Ohio - Twenty years ago NASCAR star and Ashland native Tim Richmond died from complications brought on by AIDS. At that time it was just not something that anyone talked about. Twenty years later it is not only talked about but people are doing something about it. Along with a tremendous increase in medical research there is a huge push towards AIDS awareness for the general public.
This is where Mansfield Motorsports Park steps in. This coming Friday & Saturday the Mansfield track will host the Inaugural Tim Richmond Memorial ARCA/REMAX Series 200 presented by National Speed Sport News along with the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series 50. The Speedway is deeply committed to do whatever it can to see that what caused the untimely demise of one of its own is eventually eradicated from the face of the earth. As a means of promoting a solid health awareness program for the race fans attending the Tim Richmond Memorial event the racing facility, along with the State of Ohio Department of Health, will have an HIV rapid test facility on-site. There will also be promotional brochures and related health data available at no charge.
There will be a tribute #25 (Tim's number) competing in the event under the Venturini Motorsports banner. This team is one of the ARCA powerhouses and a strong run to the finish is expected. The fans will be delighted to see a tribute #25 competing in the event with an HIV health awareness partnership.
