Lakeland Provides Opportunity Of A Lifetime For Edwards
"Former General Manager Takes Different Role At USA International Speedway"
LAKELAND, Fla (March 20, 2007) - - If you asked Adam Edwards last month what his racing plans were looking like for the season, he would of told you he didn't have anything set in stone. If you asked him today, he'll tell you he's going to Lakeland to qualify for Saturday's Construct Corps-PBG 250.
A late deal has come together between Edwards, and ARCA RE/MAX Series veterans Andy Belmont and Andy Hillenburg to put the former Day Enterprises General Manager in the No. 10 Ford Fusion for the second ARCA RE/MAX Series event of the season.
RaceCoolers.com and Corporate Printers will plaster Edward's No. 10 Ford Fusion this weekend as Edwards's attempts to make his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut in an augural event for the series in Central Florida.
"Wow, this is cool," said Edwards, a native of Falls Church, Virginia. "This opportunity came together pretty quickly, but I'm excited about Lakeland and I am sure the crew is. I know it's going to be a tough event to make, but we're going to give it a shot."
He continued, "I want to thank RaceCoolers.com and Corporate Printers for agreeing to come onboard for this weekend's race. This deal is huge not only for me, but for them as well. And to be surrounded by great people like Andy Hillenburg and Andy Belmont makes this race more worthwhile."
"I expect the race Saturday night to be one of the most competitive events of the season. No one has raced at USA International Speedway in race conditions, so no one has an advantage. Sure, there are some local guys entered but they haven't competed in an ARCA race at Lakeland, so I think everyone will see a good race."
Following USA International Speedway, Edwards's remaining schedule looks optimistic. "Right now, Lakeland is the only ARCA race I have planned, but I'm sure I'll be back. I'm getting ready to graduate from college and I'm an instructor over at Andy Hillenburg's Fast Track High Performance Driving School, so I keep pretty busy. My mind isn't really focused on the future right now; I'll worry about that when Lakeland is over with."
