CORNELIUS, N.C. (May 26, 2009) -- After a busy holiday weekend spent further preparing its cars for season long success, Kimmel Racing shifts focus to Michigan International Speedway where the team will participate in the track's one-day open test. On track activity is scheduled from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday with live timing and scoring on www.ARCARacing.com.

"I'm really looking forward to this test because we have a brand new car that we're bringing and I think it's going to be the best racecar we have," said Frank Kimmel of his new car (chassis #340). "This car has the latest and greatest body on it and the best suspension. I think it's the total package for the intermediate tracks so it should be a great test."

Kimmel is a two-time Michigan winner, who will be making his 22nd career start at Michigan since 1992. Kimmel's wins came in 1998 and 2005 making him the only repeat winner at Michigan in the last 14 events.

"Michigan is actually one of my favorite tracks," added Kimmel. "I don't know how they've paved the track over the years, but the surface has stayed smooth and if your cars not good on the bottom you can move up and try different lines which makes for a really competitive race."

Michigan's ARCA RE/MAX Series event, the Racing For Wildlife 200, will take place on Friday, June 12th. Kimmel's Crew Chief Bill Kimmel has always been a fan of the racing action at Michigan and expects the team to better their intermediate track program by participating in tomorrow's test.

"The key to winning races is turning in the middle," said Bill Kimmel. "That's going to be our main focus at the test. The mid turn speed is where it's at right now and we need to keep the car from getting tight on longer runs. I believe the driver who can get the car too turn all day is going to be the one to beat and we're going to do our best to make sure that driver is Frank Kimmel."
