CINCINNATI (Dec. 13, 1999) Kerry Earnhardt, the eldest son of seven-time NASCAR Winston Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt, and older brother of two-time defending NASCAR Busch Series champion Dale Earnhardt, Jr., has announced that he will be running the complete ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series superspeedway schedule in 2000.

Driving Chevrolet Monte Carlos fielded by his famous father, Earnhardt will debut the new ARCA effort Feb. 13 13th in the 37th annual Daytona ARCA 200.

"Me and dad sat down and talked about it and decided the ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series would be the best place to gain superspeedway experience," said Earnhardt. "I've got some seat time in the Busch series at Daytona, Talladega and Atlanta, but there's a lot of other speedways out there where I don't have any experience and fortunately ARCA will provide that opportunity.

"Plus, ARCA runs a good bit in conjunction with Winston Cup so my dad can be there to help me on the radio and other ways too. Right now, the only full-time players on the team will be myself and my crew chief Tim Weiss, and we'll build from there."

Weiss crew-chiefed the Mayfield-Kranefuss Ford Taurus that David Keith drove to victory lane in the '99 Michigan ARCA 200.
