CONCORD, NC (January 23, 2006) -- Even though he finished third in ARCA RE/MAX Series driver points in 2005, Ken Weaver still has a bit of unfinished business to take care of this season. Eddie Sharp is equally hungry for a run at the ARCA championship as a car owner. That's why Sharp and Weaver have teamed up for a full run at the ARCA championship during the 2006 season in #20 Dodges prepared by Eddie Sharp Racing.

"I take a lot of pride in taking guys that seem to just need that little something extra to get the edge and help to provide it," said Sharp. "Ken has run very well at times and I think he's shown the ability. He has come a long way in a short period of time. When the opportunity came about for Ken to become part of this operation, he stepped up and so did his sponsor PhoneCo, so now he has a shot at a full season and a run for the title."

Weaver joins Eddie Sharp Racing after a successful rookie campaign in ARCA in 2005. He captured seven top-five and 12 top-10 finishes with season-best results of second at both Nashville and Salem. While he fell just a few points short of winning the Rookie of the Year title last year, Weaver is confident that the new partnership with Sharp Racing will provide the necessary advantages to get over the hump and into victory lane en route to the 2006 ARCA title hunt.

"Last season I didn't win Rookie of the Year, which was my goal, but we finished third in points and it was an all-around good season," said Weaver. "I think that this year we're going to have an even better season and accomplish all the things that we set out to do. Eddie and I have the same outlook on a lot of things when it comes to success on the track and off."

Weaver's ambition and abilities combined with Sharp's knowledge and ARCA experience should produce a strong result in the upcoming ARCA season. Sharp has 20 years of racing experience under his belt, so he knows what a winning driver is made of and he sees Weaver as one of those drivers.

"I think Ken's made an incredible improvement and he has shown the ability to run well and he will continue to improve," said Sharp. "He finished third in points, so that says something for his abilities. Ken understands the commitment that it takes to do this, and just by talking we realized that we have the same goals. We both want to run up front and contend for race wins. I think the combination of my years in racing and what I bring to the table and his strong desire makes for good results to come."

Weaver's sophomore season in ARCA will be behind the wheel of a Dodge with engines provided by Evernham Motorsports. The new car and power combination has Weaver anxious to get the 2006 season started at the Daytona International Speedway on February 11th, which will be broadcast live on SPEED.

"I've never driven a Dodge before, but I've seen what they are capable of at all different types of tracks," said Weaver. "The relationship that we will have with Evernham Motorsports will be big. They have a proven record in ARCA and in NASCAR and I'm looking forward to this season by working with them along with Eddie."

Ken Weaver's #20 Dodges will be housed in the immaculate new home for Sharp Racing in Denver, NC, which will also be the home of Weaver's teammates at Cunningham Motorsports.
