SunTrust Rookie Points Leader, Matt Carter, heads to Kansas

Statesville, NC (4-23-2008) Matt Carter and the No. 46 Stine Seed Ford Fusion team are pulling into Kansas Speedway No. 3 in Driver Point Standings, No. 1 in SunTrust Rookie Points and holding last week's Aaron's Lap Leader award.

"I am excited about going to Kansas. It's the largest track I've raced on in the ARCA RE/MAX series since my first superspeedway race at Daytona. A while back we tested here and we were good. Hopefully we won't have the same luck we've experienced the past couple of weeks" said Carter.

Team owner, Larry Clement, is very optimistic about their position in Kansas. The 9 time championship owner has had many successes at this 1.5 mile D-shaped oval. In fact, it was a Larry Clement car that crossed the finish line to win the first [NASCAR Winston West series] race held at Kansas Speedway.

"We've always had a lot of success here. It's been a good track for us and we've always run strong. This will be the first time that Matt's ever driven a track like Kansas, but I feel Daytona is a good preview of what he can do. We've been running well so far this season and Matt's a very talented driver so we'll be competitive. This will be another big race for us since the Fort Dodge Animal Health Headquarters are here in Kansas and there are many trackside guests from Stine Seed and Fort Dodge," said Clement.
