POSITIVE EXPERIENCE FOR MARKS AT TALLADEGA
Justin Marks, driver of the #65 CarMax-Construct Corps Dodge, walked away from the John Deere 250 at Talladega Superspeedway Friday with a 23rd place finish and the confidence and knowledge needed to excel in future superspeedway races.
"It was a lot of fun," Justin Marks said. "I definitely think that we had a top three or five car. We were one of the only cars that could go from the back of the pack to the front of the pack in a matter of ten laps. The car would suck up real good and worked really well with the four or five cars that were the best cars on the track."
Despite running well, on lap 79 Marks was caught up in an accident that in turned shorten the race due to damage to the Steel and Foam Energy Resister (SAFER) barrier walls.
"I was really impressed that everyone ran the way they did. To be able to run three wide for almost 75 laps without anyone really getting into one another was awesome. Towards the end I was constantly looking to where the wreck was going to start and be cautious with those guys who are aggressive. To have ended up caught in the accident, I wasn't upset, because it is very rare that it doesn't happen at this track. Overall, I am really happy with the way this race went, I found I had a lot of confidence in the fact that I could run up front, be aggressive, and make the moves needed to be competitive."
Marks and the Brack Maggard Racing crew are back in the shop preparing for the final ARCA RE/MAX Series race of the year at Iowa Speedway. The ARCA Iowa 250 at Iowa Speedway is scheduled to begin Sunday, October 15th at 2:30 PM ET and will air live on SPEED at 2:30 PM ET.
