Tire Troubles Trample Triumph Twice for Allgaier in Pocono

Long Pond, PA (July 24, 2006) - Tire troubles once again kept Rookie Justin Allgaier from triumph in Saturday's ARCA RE/MAX Series Pennsylvania 200 event held at the Pocono International Raceway. Allgaier who qualified his No. 16 Monte Carlo in the third position, on the grid, maintained a top-ten run during the event until a left front tire went down sending him to the pits for repairs on lap 62 while running in the sixth position. Allgaier's crew changed the tire and sent him back on the track but within ten laps the left front tire blew again sending him to the pits during the green flag placing him two laps down in the 80 lap race. Allgaier was able to return to the race and crossed the checkered flag finishing in the 19th place position.

"I just hate it for this team," Justin Allgaier said. "To qualify and run so well it is a shame that the finishes didn't show that. We had the same scenario in the spring race where we qualified well and had a tire go down sending us home with a 15th place spot. We had a top-five car today and are disappointed with our results. We are still struggling on horsepower out there; I could pass in the corners but was taken a beating on the straight-aways. I knew we could hold our own though to bring home a good finish until the tire went down. Unfortunately flat tires are out of our control so all we can do is move on and hope for better days."

Allgaier who is in the 13th position in series point's heads to the next ARCA RE/MAX event slated for Friday, July 28, 2006 at the Gateway International Raceway in St. Louis, MO. The race will begin at 9:00pm ET and will be broadcast live on SPEED.
