Leonard Revs Up With Open House To Kick Off 2005 Season
Cape Coral, Florida - - Florida Motorsports Group, driver Johnny Leonard, and partner Rick Woodard are getting a head start on their 2005 ARCA RE/MAX Series season by holding an explosive open house at Victory Lane Caf0x00e9 in North Fort Myers, Florida this Friday, January 28th, 2005 from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.
Leonard, who announced late last year he will join the ARCA RE/MAX Series tour full time with thoughts of making his dreams become a reality, will be joined by his team, his sponsors and the support of family and friends for a four-hour jammed packed event.
With the goals of expressing to the race fans of Florida, that the team is live and ready for the season, Leonard wants to also rejuvenate the spirit of the residents who are still trying to recover from the hurricanes that swirled through the state last year.
"I couldn't be more excited about the open house," said Leonard, who will pilot the No. 13 Boca Bay Builders Chevrolet this season. "It was Chris's (Public Relations Director) idea to put this event together and he has worked around the clock in order for it to be a successful ordeal."
"The past several months have been tough for everyone, but this is an opportunity for everyone to get out of the house, see what we are doing and really have a great time. This is a family oriented deal, so I am encouraging the families of Southwest Florida to join us."
The night will host a live band, a Florida Motorsports Group show car, and a bounce-house with face painting for the young fans.
Starting at 6:00pm, Victory Lane will revisit the last event of the 2004 ARCA RE/MAX Series season from Talladega Superspeedway which saw Leonard draft from his 27th place starting position, hover inside the top-15 for the entire event, including leading three laps before eventually crossing the line 13th.
From 7:00pm to 8:00pm, Leonard will hold his first autograph session of the season.
At 8:00pm, Leonard and his team will hold an exclusive press conference introducing the crew, and sponsors before unveiling the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix, which will sport a new paint scheme for the 2005 Advance Auto Parts 200 season opener from Daytona International Raceway.
Also, Florida Motorsports Group will proudly introduce five of the six members of the University of Northwestern Ohio students that have agreed to join the crew for the full 2005 season.
Following the press conference, race fans can personally interact with the crew, take pictures and relax before the team will raffle off several prizes including two-pit passes to an ARCA RE/MAX Series race of their choice this season.
In addition to Boca Bay Builders, several other organizations have agreed to participate in this extraordinary event. Cat Country 100, Southwest's Florida No. 1 Country Music Station has agreed to join the team for a special evening.J
Mad Hatters & Embroidering of North Fort Myers Florida who is responsible for the design of the team's apparel this season, will help sport the team's new identity.
Also, Short Track Radio USA host Tony Modica will head south from Tampa and join the festivities. Last Wednesday, Leonard participated in his first-ever radio show interview as a guest on Modica's syndicated radio program.
"I am very grateful to the companies and media who have shown great interest in Friday's night's event," explained Leonard. "We were able to put this deal together in literally two weeks, I know it's going to be successful, I just want to thank everyone on behalf of the team for their interest and hard work."
