CONCORD, NC (April 23, 2003) -- Jamie Mosley can't get much more excited about the May 10th "Channel 5-205" ARCA race at Kentucky Speedway. Mosley will debut a new racecar, a new sponsor in American Mortgage Lenders and he will have the support of all the Kentucky State Law Enforcement employees when he takes to the track located just a couple hours from his London, Kentucky, home.
"Even though this is only our second race of the season, this is the one we have been gearing up for," said Mosley. "We have plenty of things to be pumped up about. We just purchased a new car, American Mortgage Lenders is a great supporter and we will be racing in front of all our home state fans. This is an important race for us and we plan to come out with all we can to be to have the most competitive racecar that I have ever driven."
Mosley will be supported by his Kentucky Motorsports team, which coincidently is made up primarily of law enforcement officials from around the "Bluegrass State." Mosley, who serves as a Kentucky State Police Dispatcher during the week, has enlisted several of his law enforcement friends to work on the car and serve as the over-the-wall crew during pitstops. The team is comprised of Kentucky State Troopers, Deputies and local Kentucky Police Officers. In their first race together in Nashville, the team pulled off some impressive stops thanks to their training at a Pit Stop School in North Carolina.
"We were able to go to Nashville and get all of the bugs worked out and get the jitters out of the guys who were going over the wall for the first time. Now, we are ready to buckle down and make a serious run to the front in Kentucky. With this new car we just purchased from the Valvoline MB2 Motorsports Winston Cup team, we think we have a great shot to be a top-10 or top-five car."
Mosley recently returned from North Carolina where he picked up his new Pontiac ride (a former Johnny Benson racecar). When Mosley is not at the State Dispatch post, or coordinating his business as owner of Interstate Sign Supply, he has been working on his new car.
American Mortgage Lenders has also jumped on board for a one-race deal with the entire Kentucky Motorsports Team. American Mortgage Lenders is a regional mortgage company offering a full range of mortgage loans based in Lexington (KY) with offices in London and Louisville. The company is licensed and operated in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee and West Virginia.
"I am really pumped to have a great company like American Mortgage Lenders on the car for Kentucky. They have helped this team out tremendously to be able to have what we need to be able to be competitive for this race. Along with our other sponsors, Valvoline, Pepsi and the Scott Gross Company, we want to give them the best run possible in our home state."
The "Channel 5-205" will be the second ARCA race of the 2003 season for Mosley and the second of his career at Kentucky Speedway (he finished 18th last year). Qualifying for the race will be Friday, May 9th, at 6 pm. The 137-lap race is set to begin on Saturday, May 10th, at 8 pm. The race will be seen LIVE on Speed Channel as well as locally on Channel 5.
