BROOKLYN, Mich. -- Bill Janitz, a part of the Michigan International Speedway Public Relations team since 2001, has been named Public Relations and News Manager, MIS Director of Public Relations Steve Shunck announced today.

Janitz's new title, Public Relations and News Manager will be reflective of his expanded role with the MIS Public Relations department. In addition to his other duties, Janitz will now be responsible for all written material produced by the department, including press releases, MIS's official website, as well as strengthening relationships with the print media.

"Bill has done an outstanding job at MIS in all areas over the past year and a half and continues to be an important part of our daily PR operation, said Shunck. "I want him to put additional energy into writing and his work with the print media."

Janitz, a Brooklyn, MI native, holds a bachelor's degree in Communications from Michigan State University.

"Growing up just a few miles away from MIS, I was able to witness the growth of this first-class facility, said Janitz. "It's an honor to be able to be a part of the very talented team we have at MIS. I look forward to furthering the great relationships I've formed with the media and the community during the past year and a half."

Completing the MIS Public Relations Staff is the addition of Cheryl Dorian as Public Relations Assistant. Dorian rejoins the staff after a brief stint away from MIS. Dorian brings over 5 years of experience working the media and the community.
