Todd Bowsher qualified the GFS Marketplace Ford in the 20th starting position for the Allen Crowe Memorial 100 on the 1 mile dirt track at the Illinois State Fairgounds in Springfield Illinois on Sunday afternoon, amongst a strong field of dirt cars.

When the green flew Bowsher dug hard and hovered close to the top 10 most of the day, avoiding a couple of close calls with spinning race cars at both ends of the race track. With 16 laps remaining in the 100 lap event Bowsher looked in his mirror and saw the 1st and 2nd place cars closing, he wheeled the GFS Marketplace Taurus to the high side to give them the racing groove, the #52 of Bill Baird and the #46 of Frank Kimmel were battling hard for the lead, they decided to make it a 3 wide trek into the turn in an attempt to overtake one another for the lead and Bowsher ended up in the outside retaining wall with heavy damage to the GFS Marketplace #21, and forced to accept a 26th place finishing position.

Following the race a less than happy Bowsher said, " We were gonna come out of here with a decent finish, I moved up out of the groove to let the leaders race, but I guess they felt they needed to beat and bang their way through and I just got the short end of that deal." He added, "I won't let myself get put in that position again, there was a lot of hard racing going on out there today, it might have been exciting for the fans but when you've got a wrecked race car it's not too exciting from where I was sitting."

The Jack Bowsher & Associates Motorsports Team has the upcoming week and weekend to prepare for 3 races in 8 days, with the short track at Toledo Speedway up next on Friday September 3, followed by the Southern Illinois 100 on the "Magic Mile" at the Duquoin State Fairgrounds on Monday September 6, and on to Chicagoland for the Readyhosting.com 200 on Saturday September 11.
