Detroit, MI (Thursday, August 14th, 2003) - - ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie Jimmy Hollenbeck heads to Springfield this weekend hoping to improve his Hollenbeck Motorsports team performance, since their last event over a month ago at Berlin Raceway.
"We had a decent run at Berlin," said Jimmy. "We had not competed in the ARCA RE/MAX Series in a long time, so we were pretty pleased with the results at the track all things considered."
Hollenbeck, a former late model driver has extreme confidence on his side heading to the track this weekend, as veteran ARCA team owner James Hylton and his JHM Motorsports crew will be helping out Hollenbeck in the No. 48 Chevrolet Monte Carlo this weekend.
"I'm thrilled to have the help of the entire JHM (James Hylton Motorsports) crew this weekend," explained Jimmy. "They came over to the car at Berlin, and offered some advice, and we were considerably faster in qualifying, and I credit that to his team."
While, the Hollenbeck Motorsports team is heading to the track this weekend, there is one thing that they're missing, a primary sponsor. "We are continuing to spend countless of hours searching for a sponsor that will allow us to compete in ARCA," mentioned the second-generation driver.
"There is several teams out there that are looking for the same, and we're all on the same boat, I'm hoping that we may attract someone down the road and give us all, from team to sponsor the exposure we're looking for."
Despite, lacking a sponsor, the team will carry the SPECTRA Contracting colors this weekend. "SPECTRA Contracting is my company, and we're trying to boost the business on that end as well, so it's a win-win situation for me and my business," he continued.
While, the Kalamazoo, Michigan native would love to score a win this weekend, a top 15 finish for the team would feel like a huge victory. "We may not have the car to win this weekend, but we definitely have a shot at a good finish, we're all working hard to make this the best ARCA team possible, and I'm confident we'll walk away from Springfield with good results."
The 15th event of the 2003 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule rolls into Illinois State Fairgrounds this Sunday for the running of the Allen Crowe Memorial 100. It will mark another one-day show on the tour, as practice, qualifying and the race are scheduled for Sunday. The green flag will wave shortly after 1:00pm Please stay logged online to ARCARacing.com, as they will have the latest results from Springfield.
