Bean Looking for a Dirt Track Win at Springfield

After an upsetting finish in Nashville, Team GLOCK wants to improve their point standings and record their first win in the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series during the Illinois State Fair. The 100 mile, 100 lap race on the clay track at the Illinois State Fairgrounds could be the turning point after the bad stream of events that had plagued Team GLOCK at the last four races.

Last weekend in Nashville, Dexter and the #37 Team GLOCK Racing crew were anxiously awaiting a top 10 finish. He was in the 10th position when the 11th place car hit him from behind which caused them both to spin into the wall at the end of the race. In Pocono the week before, Dexter and two other cars were involved in a bad crash that sent Dexter to the Infield Care Center. He was also involved in a crash in Berlin and spun out in Kentucky. All of these events have been disheartening for Team GLOCK as they want to bring home top finishes for their sponsor, GLOCK, Inc.

Dexter is fired up for the exciting Sunday afternoon race during the Illinois State Fair. "I really enjoy racing on dirt. It is the challenge of something different that makes it a lot of fun. I've never ran on dirt other than the four times with ARCA in the past two seasons. Last year, I finished fifth at Springfield and this weekend, I want to get Team GLOCK their first win," said Dexter.

Car owner and crew chief Jeff Spraker added, "We are heading to Illinois State Fairgrounds knowing that we have a strong background in dirt track racing. From Springfield and DuQuoin in Illinois to Syracuse, New York, we have prepared cars that have a history of success on this surface. Combined with Dexter's proven ability here in the past, we are looking forward to a great run on Sunday!"

Practice for the Allen Crowe 100 will take place from 9am - 10am, all positions will qualify with one lap at 11am and the Allen Crowe 100 will begin at 1pm. Team GLOCK Racing live scoring of practice, qualifying and the race can be viewed from arcaracing.com. After competing in the race, Dexter will head to his home state of Wisconsin to make an appearance at his high school in Westby. He will also visit the La Crosse Police Department and the Vernon County Sheriff's Department with GLOCK, Inc. Marketing and Sales personnel. On August 22 24, Bean will be in Oshkosh, WI and will accompany GLOCK Spokesperson, R. Lee Ermey, star of the hit series MAIL CALL. In the GLOCK, Inc. booth, the duo will meet and greet fans, sign autographs and take advantage of the fair like activities as Hunters and Fisherman from all around the county come together to learn about the latest and greatest in the world of everything outdoors.
