Tim Russell the Newest Young Star in the Hagans Racing Stable
23-Year-Old Super Late Model Star and Rinnai Company Join HR Driver Development
CONCORD, NC (June 23, 2006) -- Hagans Racing has added a new name to its Driver Development program this week with the addition of Tim Russell into its ARCA RE/MAX Series plans with a limited schedule for the remainder of 2006. The 23-year-old Russell has made a name for himself racing Super Late Models throughout the Southeast and racing in the ARCA Series earlier this season at Daytona, but now he has the opportunity to continue his racing aspiration with the premier ARCA-based Driver Development Program, Hagans Racing.
"It's definitely awesome to get the opportunity to run a race with a high-caliber team like Hagans Racing in the ARCA RE/MAX Series," said Russell. "I am really looking forward to being a part of a top-notch organization. I am confident we will have the opportunity to run up front and contend for race wins with a team that has proven itself as being one of the strongest in ARCA."
"Tim is exactly the kind of racer we were looking for at Hagans Racing," said team owner Matt Hagans. "He has shown an incredible amount of talent in everything that he has raced before. He has a winning attitude and he comes from a great family. Those are all characteristics that instantly drew us to Tim. He's got the ability to get the job done and we're looking forward to a strong relationship with him and his family this season."
Rinnai Tankless Water Heaters will adorn the Hagans Racing #9 machine in Russell's starts this season. Rinnai has a longstanding tradition with Russell and will continue their support of the young driver's career with his new opportunity with Hagans Racing.
"We are very happy to have Rinnai come on board with our race team," said Hagans. "Rinnai is heavily involved in racing and they have been very supportive of Tim's career. There's nothing we'd like more than to get Tim and Rinnai into Victory Lane this season."
Russell's first appearance behind the wheel of the Hagans number-9 is slated for July 1st at Kansas Speedway in the Kansas Lottery $200 Grand. Other scheduled races will be released in the coming weeks.
