Kimmel Looks to Toledo for Turnaround: Frank Kimmel has truly had his ups and downs in the first five races of the 2006 ARCA RE/MAX Series season with one win, two top-five finishes and three top-ten finishes. But along with that impressive record Kimmel's season has been shadowed by two races where luck was just not on the side of Pork Racing. This weekend Kimmel will head to the home track for the ARCA RE/MAX Series in search of his second win of 2006 and hopefully the start of a streak of success.
"We have had a pretty diverse season to this point," said Kimmel. "We had a good run at Nashville and then won at Winchester, but the wreck and Salem and again last weekend at Kentucky have put us a little farther in championship points than we would like to be. But the Pork Racing team has done a great job and we are really bringing great equipment to the race track and we have been very competitive everywhere we've been. But sometimes you need to have a little luck on your side and hopefully we can get some of that back this weekend at Toledo."
Kimmel's record of success is long at the half-mile of Toledo Speedway with eight wins, 14 top-five finishes and two pole positions. This impressive stat list also includes the fact that the worst finish Kimmel has seen at Toledo in that past seven starts is third.
"Toledo has been a good track for me," said Kimmel. "We are taking one of our favorite cars, Daisy, which we just won Winchester with. She is definitely our best short track car and hopefully she will get us back to victory lane at Toledo so we can get back up to the top of the points standings."
The Hantz Group 200 will take the green flag at 2:00pm ET on Sunday, May 21 and will be televised on Speed at 4:30pm ET the same afternoon. Kimmel will participate in an autograph session on the frontstretch of Toledo Speedway on raceday from noon to 1:15pm ET.
