Series Point Contender, Matt Carter Pulls a Top Ten Finish Out Of Canada

Statesville, NC (07-01-08) ARCA RE/MAX series championship points contender, Matt Carter, secured another top ten finish for the No. 46 Stine Seed Ford Fusion team Sunday in the Cayuga 250, placing No. 6 out of a thirty three car field.

"Practice went good. We put forth a good effort in qualifying and qualified No. 4. It was a pretty good lap", said Carter. "At the start of the race we were decent, then we ran into some trouble early on and thought we dropped a cylinder; it seemed like the motor was going to blow. It turned out a spark plug wire fell off and that is what hurt us some."

Carter kept the car in the top ten throughout much of the race; best of the day scoring some laps in the second place position for the No. 46 Stine Seed machine. "When I could get away and run the line I wanted to run we were pretty good, but I got trapped and just had a tough time."

One word that Carter has influenced over the radio waves of the No. 46 team for a few weeks now is tight. "The car just ran a little too tight all day", said Carter. "We made one last adjustment on our second pit stop and that kind of hurt us. We probably should have left the car alone and possibly might have finished a little better, but we were trying to improve the car. Really it was a pretty uneventful day for us."

The No. 46 team has been working really well together to try to make the right adjustments and keep the car where it needs to be week after week. Even though, Carter's main goal is to win races, week after week he remains a race frontrunner and currently holds a solid No. 3 position in point standings, which is a tell tale sign that stability has set in for Carter and the No. 46 team.

"We got out of there in one piece and the car came out in one piece. We are going to take the car back and try to make it better for Berlin and get our speedway car ready to go to Kentucky in two weeks."

Carter and the No. 46 Stine Seed Ford Fusion team will make a return scheduled stop to beautiful Kentucky Speedway for the ARCA RE/MAX Kentucky 150. The race is set to go under green at 8 pm EST and will be televised LIVE on SPEED.
