Bryan Clauson Celebrates 18th Birthday at Kentucky Speedway

SPARTA, Ky. (June 15, 2007) -- Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) development driver Bryan Clauson turned 18 Friday. The special date not only makes it legal for the teenager to vote in the United States, but it also means Clauson is officially eligible to compete in NASCAR which he is scheduled to do this upcoming September.

The Noblesville, Ind., teenager is lined up to compete in seven of the last eight NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) races of the 2007 season in the No. 41 Memorex Dodge, making his NASCAR debut at Richmond International Raceway September 7.

Clauson stopped by Kentucky Speedway Friday afternoon to hang out with his future team mates and to observe the NBS practice sessions. He was greeted with a surprise birthday celebration that included a nice group of well wishers and a No. 41 Memorex Dodge cake, of course.

The 18-year-old just graduated from Noblesville High School earlier this month and has a pretty busy summer ahead of him, competing in a combination of ARCA, ASA and USAC races. He is heading straight from Kentucky to go USAC Sprint car racing at the O'Reilly Raceway Park in Clermont, Ind., Saturday.

His next ARCA run is scheduled for July 13 at Kentucky Speedway in the No. 41 Memorex Dodge. Clauson has two ARCA starts already under his belt that include a top-five start and finish at USA International Speedway in Lakeland, Fla., this past March and a fifth-place finish at Iowa Speedway in early June.
