Brandon Knupp and MK Racing Geared Up for Daytona
(February 3, 2006, Mooresville, NC) - The past couple of months have handed Sidney, Ohio's Brandon Knupp a couple of indoor midget races; the thunder series at the Fort Wayne Coliseum and the Chili Bowl at the Tulsa Expo Center. Brandon and MK Racing are now geared up for the wide open spaces of Daytona.
The ARCA Re/Max Series heads to the Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 11 for the Daytona ARCA 200 and Knupp is ready for the challenge. With a record 70 plus entries the ARCA Re/Max Series race at Daytona looks to be a strong field. " With this many entries for the ARCA race, it sounds like it's going to be a pretty tough line up of cars, but really just a few weeks ago when I raced the midget at the Chili Bowl there were 270 cars so if you put it into perspective I guess it's not that bad." said Knupp. He added, " We went to Daytona for the test back in December and had a somewhat decent car, we've made some minor adjustments and we feel like we got things in the ballpark, so we should be pretty good. We've been getting things together down here in North Carolina, making a few trips up and down the road, but we pretty much have the Daytona deal ready to roll."
With all of the "Cup" supported "Driver Development" deals for the ARCA Re/Max Series Daytona event it should prove to be an exciting week. There's pretty much an entry for all forms of motorsports, if nothing else it will keep everybody up on the wheel.
Brandon and MK Racing head to Daytona for the Daytona ARCA 200 with no on-track activity Tuesday and Wednesday, inspection only. The ARCA cars will take to the track on Thursday February 9 for two separate practice sessions; 9:30am to 11:50am and 1:30pm to 4:00pm. Pork Pole Qualifying is scheduled to roll off on Friday February 10 at 11:05am with Final practice from 5:10pm to 6:15pm.
The ARCA Re/Max Series is set to go green for the Daytona ARCA 200 at 4:10pm est with live television coverage on the SPEED channel.
