New paint scheme next Wednesday.
Lexington, Ky. (July 2, 2002) - iHigh, Inc. today announced their marketing alliance with teen racing sensation Shelby Howard. Last season, the 16-year-old for CIMCO Racing became the youngest driver ever to compete in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. To date, Howard has 15 career series starts and six top ten finishes.
Howard's newly-designed #64 Chevrolet featuring iHigh.com will be officially unveiled at a press conference to be held Wednesday, July 10 at 11 a.m. at the national headquarters of iHigh, 350 East Main Street in Lexington, Ky. Fans will get a chance to meet and greet with Howard from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at iHigh.
Four lucky high school students will be chosen at random to participate as honorary pit crew members and media/journalists for the ARCA RE/MAX race at the Kentucky Speedway on July 12.
"It's exciting to be involved with a high school student excelling at the demanding and challenging sport of auto racing," said Tim Campbell, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of iHigh, Inc. "Shelby is showing that hard work and a personal commitment bring accomplishment and that's the message we like to send to high school students every day." iHigh, the nation's leading high school marketing company, will assist in securing team sponsorship and developing off-track promotions for CIMCO, which is based in Indianapolis. iHigh.com, the official high school Internet network and iHigh's signature product, will fill the role as the team's major associate sponsor.
"The partnership between iHigh and CIMCO Racing accomplishes some key points - it takes us a step closer to getting the support we need in becoming a championship contender, it reaches into the expanding and increasingly important teen-age market, and it expands iHigh's role in amateur sports," said Shelby Howard III, the 43-year-old team manager. "iHigh's relationships within the corporate world will be a key component in achieving the team's goal of becoming one of the top-notch teams in the ARCA RE/MAX Series."
"iHigh supports the betterment of the student-athlete and our driver fits perfectly in that category," said Amber Estes, Marketing Director for CIMCO Racing. "We have one of the smartest, most exciting, young drivers in any racing series in the world. On the track, he's calm, smooth, and he consistently makes the right decisions. Off the track, he's extremely dedicated, cooperative, and very humble. He is still a teenager, but he exhibits wisdom beyond his years in numerous situations. We couldn't have aligned ourselves with a better company or be in a more ideal situation."
