Yoshimura's Hayden 4 Points Out of the Series Lead

Chino, Calif. - May 17, 2010 - Yoshimura's Tommy Hayden is only four points out of the AMA Pro American SuperBike championship lead after a weekend of tough racing at Sonoma, California's Infineon Raceway. Both Hayden and his teammate Blake Young battled hard throughout the doubleheader, the fourth event of the series, and were able to add to their points collections with their Top-6 finishes.

Young qualified with the second-fastest laps times on his Yoshimura-powered GSX-R1000 and was able to take the holeshot for Saturday's race. Young held second place for most of the race, but ended the day in fifth. Tommy Hayden was close behind his teammate for the entire race, starting off in fifth and holding on to sixth position for the rest of the race.

On Sunday, the team regrouped and focused on improving on their results. Young had a good beginning to the race, taking second place off the start, and Hayden started the race in fifth. With Yoshimura's help, Hayden was able overcome two opponents and move up to fourth place where he finished the race. Young fought his way through the tough course to finish Sunday in fifth.

Hayden is just four points out of the championship lead, and Young is holding strong in fourth position in overall points. Both Young and Hayden are looking forward to a fresh track and racing at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin on June 4-6.

Blake Young qualified second for the Infineon race, and is currently in fourth place in overall series points.
