LAS VEGAS - Las Vegas Motor Speedway will celebrate Memorial Day weekend with a double dose of racing action. The Strip at LVMS will host races Friday night and will join the half-mile dirt oval for family entertainment Saturday night.=20
The weekend begins with Friday Night Drags at The Strip, which includes High School and Import racers competing in eliminations.=20
The Strip then will light up Saturday night when the Pro Star Motorcycles make a special Memorial Day appearance. The professional motorcycle touring series sanctioned by the National Motorcycle Racing Association includes Funny Bike, Pro Stock, Pro Mods, Top Gas, Super Comp., Super Gas, Street E.T. and V-Twin E.T.
In addition to the Pro Star Motorcycles, The Strip will host the NHRA Summit Racing E.T. Bracket Racing Series presented by National Performance Center. This show includes Pro E.T., Sportsman, Street and Motorcycles.
Gates are set to open Friday at 5 p.m. with racing from 6 p.m. to midnight. Entry fee at the Friday Night Drags is $15 for car and driver, $10 for competing high school students with a valid student ID, $10 for crew and spectators and $5 for non-competing high school students, military and seniors.
Gates are scheduled to open at 4 p.m. for bracket racers. Qualifying is set to begin at 5 p.m. with eliminations at 7. Admission on Saturday evening is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, military and high school students with a valid ID. Children 12 and under are free. The entry fee for competitors is $40.
At the half-mile dirt track, IMCA Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Hitchin' Post/Exiss Legends Cars and Thunder Stox will compete.
Spectator gates open at 6 p.m. with heat races starting at 7:30. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and military, $2 for children 6-12 and free for children five and under. The Family Four Pack is $25.=20
