Vegas Sweep: If Ricky Carmichael wins this weekend, he could be the only rider in history to win both the Las Vegas round of EA SPORTS Supercross and the U.S. Open, which was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in October.

Racking Up The Points: The most points ever scored in a single supercross season are: 520 by Johnny O'Mara; 420 by David Bailey; 385 by Jean Michael-Bayle; 372 by Jeremy McGrath.

Record Tying: Ricky Carmichael can tie Jeremy McGrath's two records: consecutive wins in a season (13) and most wins in a season (14) if he wins this weekend.

The Blues: Team Yamaha has had some pretty good luck at Las Vegas in the 250cc class as they have won this event five times, more than any other brand. Honda has five wins; Suzuki 1; Kawasaki 1.

McGrath's House: Team Mazda Yamaha's Jeremy McGrath, who has seven supercross titles to his name, has won in Las Vegas three times in a row, a win this weekend could be his fourth.

Playin' Chicken: Jeff "Chicken" Matasevich was the last Kawasaki rider to win the 250cc Main Event in Las Vegas. Matasevich won here in '90.

Topping The Charts: Jeremy McGrath's reign of terror on the supercross circuit is one that will not soon be forgotten. McGrath has finished in the top two for the past nine years. Mike LaRocco has finished in the top five for four consecutive years and the top 10 for the last 10 years.

Cal Ripken of Supercross: McGrath is competing in his 145th-career race and Mike LaRocco enters his 177th-career race.

Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Shootout: The greatest 125cc riders from around the globe will compete for bragging rights for the coveted Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Shootout this weekend. Travis Pastrana, who won last year's shootout, is the 125cc Eastern Regional Supercross champion and Ernesto Fonseca is the 125cc Western Regional Supercross titleholder. Fonseca is the only rider in supercross history to win both the Eastern and Western Regional championships. For the past three years, the Eastern Regional champion has won the Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Shootout: Carmichael '98; Ramsey in '99; Pastrana in '00. Kevin Windham is the only rider to win the Las Vegas 125cc Main Event back to back ('96 and '97).

Three's a Crowd: Ricky Carmichael, who clinched the 250cc EA SPORTS Supercross championship two weeks ago, now holds every major motocross championship in American: Outdoor National Motocross, U.S. Open, and EA SPORTS Supercross.
