KTM Rider's Blistering Time Has Him Up Front in Quest for Rockwell Watch
MORGANTOWN, W.V. (May 27, 2010) - Over the course of 16 laps in the final moto of the 42nd Annual Rockstar Energy Hangtown Classic, the world's best riders battled it out for the chance to stand on the overall podium and get the 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship off to a strong start. While Monster Energy Kawasaki's Chad Reed captured the overall win in his defense of the 2010 450 Class title, its was Jagermeister KTM's Mike Alessi who dominated the moto and gave the KTM 350cc motorcycle its first taste of victory on American soil.
In the process of grabbing the holeshot and leading every lap of moto two, Alessi laid down the fastest single lap, earning the single bonus point that is available in the Rockstar Energy Fastest Lap competition that underlies the entire 2010 season. With his lap of 2:15.130, Alessi bettered his 39 opponents and now sits atop the Rockstar Energy Fastest Lap standings in the quest to claim the black and diamond 50mm signature Rockwell watch that will be awarded at Pala Raceway on the final weekend of competition.
