Texas Motor Speedway has named Brad Gillie as the new Manager of Short Track Operations. He will be responsible for all short track activity at the speedway, including all races at the new Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.

"Brad is going to be a great addition to our organization," speedway assistant general manager Kenton Nelson said. "He has show his passion for Texas Motor Speedway as the public address announcer for the past three years. Brad is going to be responsible for all events at the state-of-the-art Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track."

In his new role, Gillie will interface with both local and national short track series, working to bring a variety of racing to the Dirt Track. Series already scheduled to compete at Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track in 2001 are United Dirt Track Racing Association (March 28 and Sept. 13), Pennzoil World of Outlaws (March 29/30 and Sept. 14-15), freestyle motorcycles (April 28), AMA flat track motorcycles (May 5), and Extreme Monster Trucks (Oct. 13-14).

Gillie is a graduate of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, with a degree in Radio/TV/Film and previously served as an on-air personality at KEGL Radio in Dallas as well as the intermission host for the Dallas Stars Hockey Club. In addition, Gillie has worked in the homebuilder industry. He, and his wife Angela, have three children, Jaci (10), Ashtyn (8), and Alex (3).
