Successful Snetterton Shakedown
Donington Park, Leicestershire, England: Westward Racing Group LLC and their Panoz LMP-1 Roadster S will make their debut today at this weekend's round of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) at Donington Park. Team drivers Jay Cochran and Peter Boss will partner in the car for Saturday's race.
"We went to Snetterton on Monday and managed to get some track time for Jay and Peter, not a full test mind you, but enough to get familiar with the Avons." said Motorsports Director, Dave Sims. "Sirish Vissa, Panoz Motor Sports Race Engineer will help us get the car sorted for Donington."
Westward driver, Jay Cochran, added, "The Panoz Roadster responded very well to the Avons, felt glued to the circuit. The competition is formidable to say the least, so we're looking for every advantage. "
Peter Boss concurred, "The Avons were an unknown part of the equation and now we know they're a plus. The ELMS has attracted some great teams so we've got to drive smart and rely on Dave Sims' proven strategy to run up front.
The event will be televised in the United States on a same-day basis at 4 p.m. (EST) by NBC Sports on April 14, shown live on SkySports 3 for the UK race fans, followed by a Eurosport one-hour highlight show on Sunday April 22.
Race fans can also listen to the race live by going to www.europeanlemans.com and using the Radio Le Mans web broadcast service
