TAVARES, FLA., - Dion von Moltke returns to Alex Job Racing (AJR), this time in the No. 22 WeatherTech Racing Porsche with Leh Keen and 2012 GTC championship winner Cooper MacNeil for the American Le Mans Series Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda at Road Atlanta, Oct. 17-20.
Von Moltke drove for AJR at the Mobil 1 Sebring Twelve Hours, anchoring the team to a GTC Class win in March. The young South African returns to AJR in the No. 22 WeatherTech Porsche.
"Every driver wants to drive on the best team with the best teammates, and I was able to see first hand the first-class effort that Alex Job Racing brings to the track at Sebring," von Moltke said. "While I was competing against Cooper and Leh at Sebring you could tell they were both on top of their game and had the potential to go out there and challenge for the championship. The fact that they realized that potential was great to see! I don't feel any less pressure with the fact that the team has clinched the championship already, because I put more pressure on myself than anything else to perform to the best of my ability. Although they have clinched already this won't be a relaxing weekend. The whole team, as well as Cooper, Leh and I, really want to bring our "A" game for this race, so we will all be very focused throughout the weekend."
Von Moltke holds Road Atlanta as one of his favorite circuits.
"There are not many tracks in the world that just flow as nicely as Road Atlanta. The track really allows the driver to get into a rhythm, which is so enjoyable. It is also one of the most challenging tracks in the world. It is really key that the car and driver are one throughout this race because if you do not have confidence in the car around Road Atlanta you can lose a ton of time."
Alex Job, team owner, is happy to have von Moltke back with the team at Petit.
"Dion is a well-known driver to us," Job said. "He stepped right in at Sebring and anchored the seat for us in the GTC win in the, then, Battery Tender Porsche. He is a young guy who is fast and smart and will really compliment Cooper and Leh well at Road Atlanta. We still have something to race for at Petit, sewing up a second place in the GTC driver's championship for Leh."
