Volk Buys Company, Signs Schroeder, Issues New Catalog
BRASELTON, Ga., April 17 - There was a new decal on the Supreme Exhaust System Products/Purity Farms No. 95 of Tom Volk and Jeret Schroeder in American Le Mans series competition at Road Atlanta this weekend: Racer Parts Wholesale.
Team owner and driver Volk, of Blissfield, Mich., purchased the parts and accessories business of Racer Wholesale from founder Bob Postell on April 7. Postell, the 1989 "B"-class SCCA Showroom Stock national champion, retained the safety equipment division of the business and the two have signed a long-term marketing agreement to benefit both companies.
In addition, Indy 500 Bank One Rookie-of-the-Year candidate Jeret Schroeder has been signed as the celebrity endorser for the business.
The parts and accessories company's inventory has been moved from Atlanta to Indianapolis, where it will share space with another one of Volk's companies, Specialty Sales, which services the auto aftermarket business in three states at wholesale prices. This acquisition will help to expand the lines of products offered at wholesale.
Racers Parts Wholesale's new catalog is just off the presses too. The 34-page catalog is chock full of quality brand names, including Supreme, Arvin, Moog, Bendix, Red Line Oil, Aeroquip, Supertrapp and FuelSafe. Just about everything is covered, from ducting to mufflers and fuel cells to Crocotile floor tiles.
