The alternator gremlins that have dogged the LMP2 Penske Porsches landed in the Dyson Racing pit shortly after a full course caution came out at 6:09 pm. Butch Leitzinger brought the No. 16 Thetford/Norcold Porsche RS Spyder in with low voltage requiring a battery change.

Understanding this drill, the team in consultation with Porsche engineers decided to bring Leitzinger back in for a new alternator and alternator cable - both procedures having been performed earlier in the day down in Penske's pits.

The change took 19 minutes, the last seven of which were after the course went green, costing the No. 16 another seven laps, increasing the deficit to the class-leading Acura Prototype to 21 laps.

Sebring's butcher's bill mounts.
