ANCA and TORNOS Join Tafel Racing For Remainder of ALMS
Cumming, Georgia, August 1, 2007 -- ANCA Total Precision and TORNOS will join Tafel Racing as sponsors on the Tafel Racing Porsche RSR race cars for the remainder of the 2007 American Le Mans Series (ALMS).
The production tooling companies have had a year long relationship with Jim Tafel and his racing programs, riding along at Long Beach, as well as at select events in the Grand-Am Series.
"We have enjoyed maintaining and expanding our relationship with ANCA and TORNOS and carrying the program forward from Long Beach, where they started with us in the ALMS," Tafel said. "The two companies are very active at the track and utilize the sponsorship to entertain customers and introduce new clients to their products and of course our brand of racing."
"Jim runs his racing programs with a similar philosophy to the way that we operate our companies," Scott Kowalski, president, TORNOS said. "The quality of presentation as well as on the on-track performance makes Tafel Racing a perfect performance marketing partner for ANCA and TORNOS. We are looking forward to being apart of the team for the great venues that lie ahead on the ALMS schedule."
TORNOS has looked to the future and is one of the leading companies in the small parts machine turning industry. With its DECO 2000 concept, the company now provides the market with radically new solutions and unrivaled performance.
Australian Numerical Controls and Automation (ANCA) was founded in 1974 in Melbourne, Australia. ANCA expanded through its high-level engineering and mathematical skills to develop complete machine tools. The company has created sophisticated CNC tool grinding machines by combining leading-edge technology with operating simplicity.
The remaining American Le Mans races include all-star venues like Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin; Mosport International Raceway outside of Toronto, Canada; the Detroit Grand Prix; the 10-hour Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta and the season finale at Laguna Seca in Monterey, California.
