BMW to Sebring 12 Hours?
Don Panoz has suggested that BMW may well be present at the Sebring 12 hours. A BMW spokesman has neither confirmed or denied the story.

Floodlight tests for Daytona
Testing at Daytona was of a different type last week. The circuit was trialling flood lights as options for the 1999 Daytona 24 Hours. The response from those testing the circuit was favourable. No decision has yet been made for January's race.
AMG denies new Merc.
The AMG concern has denied that it is to build an open top sports car for the Le Mans 24 hours. The team says it will stick with a revised version of the current tin-top.
Ratel loses US date
Stephane Ratel has had a blow to the FIA GT series, with Laguna Seca switching their date from the GT series to the Don Panoz organised American Le Mans Series. The reasons stated are financial. The FIA fees for hosting a race are considerably more than for ALMS.
