Salt Lake City promotion to feature Series cars, transporters

Transporters and race cars from American Le Mans Series teams will fill the streets of Salt Lake City during a race-week promotion for the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix. Fans from around the area are invited to see the cars and stars of the Series at 4:30 p.m. MT on Wednesday, May 13 at the South Towne Mall in Sandy, Utah.

Race cars and drivers will be present for autograph signings, photographs and more until 6 p.m. At 6:30, a parade featuring transporters and a select number of cars on display will hit the highways of Utah en route to Miller Motorsports Park. The transporter parade will include vehicles from the American Le Mans Series' LMP1, LMP2 and GT2 classes along with its newest category - ALMS Challenge. Participating teams will include:

. Corsa Motorsports (Ferrari Challenge Stradale)
. de Ferran Motorsports (LMP1 - ARX-02a Acura)
. Patron Highcroft Racing (LMP1 - ARX-02a Acura)
. Flying Lizard Motorsports (GT2 - Porsche 911 GT3 RSR)
. Robertson Racing (Ford GT-RM)
. Dyson Racing (LMP2 - Mazda Lola B09 86)
. Snow Racing (ALMS Challenge - Porsche 911 GT3 Cup)

Of those, Corsa Motorsports' Ferrari, Robertson Racing's Ford and Snow Racing's Porsche will make cameos as street cars along Interstate 15!

With the final destination being the race venue of Miller Motorsports Park, Flying Lizard driver Patrick Long summed up why Utah remains a significant and exciting stop on the Series' schedule.

"There is a huge following of motorsports, both two- and four-wheel in the Salt Lake area and (before the venue was built) it seemed like the people and fans were thriving for a race and a race track," he said. "...Now we have the Taj Mahal of racetracks right in Salt Lake City's backyard. Miller Motorsports Park sets the bar for any motorsport facility in North America. It is the biggest, most technologically advanced and fastest track that we have."

The next round of the American Le Mans Series is the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix from Miller Motorsports Park. The race is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. MDT on Sunday, May 17. SPEED will broadcast the race starting at 10 p.m. EDT on the same day. American Le Mans Radio and Live Timing and Scoring will be available on Racehub at americanlemans.com. You can also follow the Series on Twitter.

The race also will include the season-long MICHELIN Green X Challenge. Tickets are available at americanlemans.com or millermotorsportspark.com.
