MID-OHIO GRID CONTINUES TO GROW!
Libra Radical-IES is official; Diaz and Gonzalez to PR1/Mathiasen LMPC
The grid for the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge grew to 34 cars Friday with the addition of Libra Racing's Radical SR9-IES to the LMP class. And in LMP Challenge, Luis Diaz and Ricardo Gonzalez will make their return to the Series driving PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports' ORECA FLM09.
Libra Racing, owned by Ian Dawson, will debut the Radical-IES in competition. Andrew Prendeville is the primary driver with his teammate to be announced at a later date. The car will compete on Dunlop rubber and is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 powerplant built by IES Engineering.
The Diaz/Gonzalez pairing will make its first start in LMPC, a class that will race at Mid-Ohio for the first time. The duo competed in the first four rounds in GT Challenge, and Diaz returns to Mid-Ohio after winning in LMP2 last year for Acura with Adrian Fernandez. Diaz also set the fastest LMP2 race lap.
In GT, French Porsche works driver Patrick Pilet will team with Seth Neiman in Flying Lizard Motorsports' No. 44 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.
