SEBRING, FL - Advance ticket sales are at a record pace in anticipation of the 49th Annual Superflo 12 Hours at Sebring Presented by Dodge at the historic Sebring International Raceway. The premier race of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) runs Saturday, March 17, beginning 10:30 am. Gates open at 7:00 am on Wednesday, March 14, for five days of racing at America's oldest road racing track, established on the site of a World War II air base. Tickets are currently on sale at special advance purchase prices until March 1. After that date, gate prices will go into effect. "Ticket sales are at record levels," stated Raceway Director Tres Stephenson. "The tremendous success of the American Le Mans Series is a major factor for the record demand." Now in its third season, the ALMS features the world's leading sports car teams, many of which compete in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans in France. Exotic prototypes led by defending champion Audi headline four different classes of cars competing in the once-around-the-clock endurance classic. Porsche, BMW, Corvette, Dodge Vipers and many other makes and models will battle on the tough 3.7 mile circuit. The Sebring schedule includes six supports races, highlighted by the Trans-Am series which runs on Friday, March 16. Sebring International Raceway offers a variety of viewing, parking and camping options for spectators. The legendary track recently completed a massive improvement program which resulted in many new amenities for spectators, a new pit tower, corporate suites and an 81-room hotel and spa overlooking the track.
