The Racer's Group: Halfway through the 51st running of the 12 Hours of Sebring.
Sebring, FL. -- Mar. 15, 2003 -- At the halfway mark of the 12 Hours of Sebring, fresh news out of the #66 Monster Cable/mail2web.com Porsche 911 GT3 RS: Kevin Buckler and Eliseo Salazar both report that the bumps are causing minor problems in the cockpit.
Buckler explained: "The bumps on the course are vibrating some things loose. In my last stint, my radio plug kept coming loose, and so did the fire bottle. I was trying to drive with my knee on the straights to plug the thing back in, but we've got it taken care of. The car is running great mechanically."
Eliseo Salazar had a slightly different problem, albeit from the same cause. "I spent 10 laps of the last stint trying to wrench the mirror off it's perch -- the thing was lying in my lap, and causing me some visibility problems. Aside from that, the car's doing well, there's a little oversteer, but it's going good."
