12 Hours Of Sebring: A Great Race That Ends On A Sour Note.

Matteo Bobbi needed just a little more luck to make the 12 hours of Sebring an unforgettable race. A techincal problem during the ninth hour of the race, forced the Risi Team's Ferrari 360 Modena to make a unexpected long pit stop.Too much time had gone by for them to compete against the leaders.Until that moment, Bobbi was always in podium positions varying from 2nd to 3rd place. Notwithstanding this, the final result wasn't so unpleasant :the team made up of Bobbi, Kelleners and Lazzaro finished in 7th place in the GT Class and were 16th overall.

"I can't deny that I'm a little disappointed because we proved all of our potential but got very little in return.Right from the start, with the free practice sessions and the official qualifying session, we were in the top positions. On Friday morning, we simulated a long run and the set up of the race and this gave us vital information. This also made us very confident for the 12 hours. In fact,we were always in podium positions during the first hours of the race and at times, we were even inches away from 1st place.

Unfortunately towards the end of the race during the ninth hour, we had to make a pit stop because we have a technical problem with the engine starter. The Risi team were great because they allowed us to get back into the race but we had too many laps to catch up on to our disadvantage.

The final result isn't so bad in the end. I'm just dismayed because conquering a poduim position was very feasible. It was however, a very important and gratifying esperience for me. I would like to thank Ferrari and Pirelli for their great work. I would also like to thank the Risi Team for all of their professionalism.

Now,another thrilling adventure is going to begin:on March 28,in Monza, the FIA GT will take off and I will have to defend my world champion title that I conquered last year with Thomas Biagi. This year, I have a new team-mate:Gabriele Gardel and I would like to wish him the best of luck. This will be a very challenging season and both the Scuderia Italia and I are very stimulated and we would like to confirm our leadership.

So to all my fans, don't miss the race next week in monza."
