Marc Lieb scored another American Le Mans Series GT podium, this time at Infineon (Sears Point) Raceway in Sonoma, Calif., after a caution-charged race. Lieb, of Leipzig, Germany, and his co-driver, Romain Dumas of France, finished third in class despite damage to the car's front bodywork.

Dumas started the No. 24 Alex Job Racing Porsche 911 GT3 RSR from the class pole position, after a record qualifying lap of one minute 34.244 seconds on the 2.53-mile road course. He held the lead until he was spun by another GT car and dropped back to fourth in class, just 29 minutes into the two-hour 45-minute race. He pitted a few minutes later and Lieb took the wheel, regaining third place despite damage that reduced the car's downforce. Dumas drove the final hour for the pair's third podium finish of the season.

"The whole front was damaged so the downforce on the front was gone. I really struggled in fast corners; I picked up so much understeer. In the slow corners and the midspeed corners, it was okay and I could catch up to Jörg [Bergmeister, driving the No. 23 Porsche], but there was no way to pass him," Lieb said.

"Again, we lost the race in the pit lane with the same mistake we made at the last race - we changed drivers the first time. The other guys just made a pitstop for fuel. I'm just very disappointed because we're driving one fast lap after the other, we're the quickest car out there and we only finished third."
