Sonoma, California -- ACEMCO Motorsports Johnny Mowlem qualified the number 63 Saleen S7-R in third position in GT1 for tomorrow's running of the American Le Mans Series Grand Prix of Sonoma.

Mowlem was able to wheel the Saleen around the 2.53-mile, 12-turn track in a time of 1:28.854 and a speed of 103 mph, just 3/10ths off of the Corvette pole time. Johnny, together with teammate Terry Borcheller along with the crew was able to successfully work through the weekend to adjust the Saleen just in time for a solid qualifying effort.

"The team has worked really hard and they deserve this effort," said Mowlem. "The car is really setup well and the times reflect that work. I really had no heroics during qualifying, just the usual adrenalin and a good car. The car is balanced really well and is transitioning near perfectly through these 12-turns. It is nice to be closer to the Corvette guys; we hope that we can be a factor at the front tomorrow."

"We have made a lot of progress this week," said team owner Jeff Giangrande. "We needed to give the drivers a car that they could drive. That sounds funny, but in the last two races at Mid-Ohio and Lime Rock I don't believe that we were able to do deliver a car that they were confident they could drive fast. Johnny and Terry sound more confident on the radio and that permeates through the crew. We are hopeful for a very competitive effort tomorrow."

The ALMS race from Infineon will stat at 11:00 a.m. local time and will be televised live on CBS starting at 2:00 p.m. EST.
