RISI COMPETIZIONE - MID RACE REPORT AFTER FOUR HOURS 30 MINUTES
Risi Competizione's #62 has staged a tremendous fight back into contention for a GT2 win after losing two laps in the early stages of the race due to a freak mechanical problem. A small broken part from a drinks bottle connecter came loose and lodged itself temporarily under the throttle. The problem was detected and resolved, but required two extra pit stops.
Mika Salo made up considerable ground but it has been Jaime Melo who has flown, firing off a string of fastest laps to bring the car back through the field to its current 3rd place position.
The three Krohn Racing drivers in the #61 Ferrari have all now cycled through the car and driven without any major problems. They are currently in 7th place in class.
