J3 Racing Set for Home Race
Buford, Georgia - J3 Racing made the nine mile drive from their shop to Road Atlanta for round two of the American Le Mans Series race to be run on Sunday.
The team is coming off of an all time best ALMS finish at Sebring of second. Joining Justin Jackson in the number 79/Coca-Cola/J3 Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR will be Nic Jonsson. The duo will take on the 12-turn, 2.54-mile Road Atlanta circuit in Sunday's two-hour and forty-five minute race.
Suffering from the flu all week in Sebring precluded Justin Jackson from driving. "I am 100% fit and ready to race this weekend. I have a lot of laps at Road Atlanta and we really know what the car wants to get around here fast. For me it is my first ALMS race of the season and I am ready to get back into the rhythm of driving. Nic really worked well with us at Sebring and he also has a lot of time around this track. We are looking forward to a competitive weekend."
Jackson's teammate this weekend will be road racing stalwart Nic Jonsson. "The J3 guys are based just up the road in Buford, so Road Atlanta is in their back yard. They have a nice record of strong finishes here and we are looking to have a good weekend. The strong start at Sebring has energized the team and with their home track being the next race I am really positive for our chances this weekend. The competition in GT2 is really strong so we have to have a good race on the track as well as in the pits."
Sunday's race will start at 12:00 p.m. EST and will be televised live on CBS.
