Bernhard/Bergmeister Porsche leading Ferrari by one lap after six hours at Petit Le Mans; second place in drivers championship at stake

ATLANTA -- October 18 -- Both Timo Bernhard and Jorg Bergmeister, drivers of the #24 Alex Job Racing McKenna mail2web Porsche 911 GT3 RS, are only one point ahead of Risi Ferrari drivers Anthony Lazzaro and Ralf Kelleners in the American Le Mans Series GT st andings, and the teams are first and second respectively after six hours of racing at Petit Le Mans.

Bernhard/Bergmesiter/Dumas took the lead -- a great accomplishment after losing time early in the event when it was t-boned by the Olive Garden Ferrari and losing its door -- when the Risi Ferrari and the #23 Alex Job Racing Porsche of Maassen/Luhr both came into the pits for unrelated, unscheduled pit stops. Whichever car finishes ahead of the other will claim second place for its drivers. Sascha Maassen and Lucas Luhr, who have already clinched the GT drivers title, is running third after coming in to che ck a flashing oil light.

The #43 Hindery/Baron/Rockenfeller YES Network car is running fourth, three laps behind the leaders, with the #66 The Racers Group Porsche of Buckler/Wagner/Long running fifth, another lap down.

Retirements include the #67 The Racer's Group Porsche and the #31 White Lightning/Petersen Porsche (crashes), along with the #67 The Racer's Group Porsche (also a crash).
