As the Petit Le Mans moved into its eighth hour, darkness fell and the temperature dropped at the Road Atlanta track. Aston Martin Racing is currently first and second in GT1 class.

Both Aston Martin DBR9s pitted consecutively for the seventh time on lap 262, Pedro Lamy handing the 009 DBR9 to Stephane Sarrazin, Darren Turner handing the 007 DBR9 to Tomas Enge.

Sarrazin rejoined the race in first position, Enge rejoined in fourth position. Enge set about pursuing the number 3 Corvette trying several time to pass him before finally passing cleanly for third at turn eight just after the seven-hour mark.

With track temperatures dropping the number 4 Corvette entered the pits and remained there for longer than usual returning to the track in fourth position four laps down on GT1 race leader, Sarrazin and two laps down on second place Enge in the 007 DBR9.

On lap 307 Sarrazin pitted, Lamy taking over the 009 DBR9. The team noticed a drop in water pressure and added water during the pit stop as a precaution. Enge pitted the 007 DBR9 two laps later, Turner resuming the race in second position two laps behind Lamy.
