Alex Job Racing will start in pole position

Saturday second practice session

Odd Georgia weather caused an interesting day of practice today at the Chevy Grand Prix of Atlanta. Due to rain, GT and GTS qualifying was cancelled. The best time from each of today's two practice sessions was taken.

The No. 24 McKenna/mail2web.com™ Porsche GT3 RS earned pole position from a fast lap of 1:24.323 during the second practice session of the day with Timo Bernhard behind the wheel.

The team's No. 23 racing machine came in a close second with a lap time of 1:24.591.

Timo Bernhard, No. 23 McKenna/mail2web.com™ Porsche GT3 RS:

"Well I am happy to have the pole, but I just wish we could have qualified for it properly. In Europe we race in the rain, snow, whatever, nothing is ever cancelled, so this situation is very interesting for me. This is the second pole for Jorg and I this season but at Sebring we had bad luck during the race. I just hope we can have better luck here and remain in the same position we will start in."

Alex Job, team owner of Alex Job Racing:

"I'm happy we ended up with the first and second positions, however, it is a little anticlimactic to not get to qualify. I know the drivers as well as the crew are disappointed. We had a good practice session testing out the intermediate tires which is good since we may have this off and on rainy weather during the race tomorrow."
