ORBIT / Paul Miller Racing had a fast start to the American Le Mans Series event at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., topping the GTC class through the first two sessions of the race weekend. The competition caught up in qualifying on Saturday, moving the team's Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car to the second row on the starting grid for Sunday's two-hour 45-minute race.

Bryce Miller (Summit, N.J.) qualified the No. 48 Marquis Jet / GPR Porsche he shares with Luke Hines (Essex, England). Miller covered the 4.048-mile road course in two minutes 15.656 seconds at an average speed of 107.425 mph, good for fourth on the GTC grid. Hines will drive the first race stint on Sunday, followed by Miller.

"I am excited for the race," Miller said. "It's too bad we didn't qualify front row -- we know the car is very good. The variable today was some mismanaged tire pressures. So if we all do our job tomorrow, we will bring a fight to the front."
